CONCERT CHORUS

Holy Family Grade School’s Concert Chorus is comprised of students from 4th through 8th grade and alumni. Our Concert Chorus is a member of the American Federation Pueri Cantores which is the Student Choral Organization of the Catholic Church. As an international Catholic choral organization, our choir members are provided with opportunities for school aged youth choirs from all backgrounds to participate in liturgical music. They learn and gain an appreciation of Plainchant, Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and Modern liturgical music set within the rich tradition of the Catholic Church. Similar to Pueri Cantores, our Concert Chorus aims to enhance the lives of young singers through a musical experience that is conducted within a nurturing environment. Young people of all faiths and beliefs, and who are enrolled in our Grade School, are welcome to be part of our Concert Chorus.

The members of the choir have had great opportunities to travel as part of Pueri Cantores to both religious and non-religious choral festivals, concert halls, cathedrals throughout the United States, Europe, and have performed for enthusisatic audiences. The goal of Concert Chorus’s musical tours is to enrich the life experience of others.

Our choir members lead the entire grade school congregation during our Tuesday School Masses to prayerful worship through songs. Concert Chorus does the same for our schoolwide Christmas and Spring concerts. Recently, our Concert Chorus performed in Rome for the Papal Mass on December 2015 and January 2016. In June of the previous school year, the group performed at The Carnegie Hall in New York.

On July 7 – 16, 2018, Concert Chorus embarked on another international tour to Barcelona, Spain. They attended the 42nd International Congress of Pueri Cantores, representing Holy Family Grade School and the City of Glendale.
