The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing that frees us from our sins. It is one that restores peace of mind and soul to the sinner and, with penance, cleanses that person of sin. It strengthens the unity of the person with Christ. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is introduced for the first time to the second graders in preparation for their First Communion. The parish priest and his associates take time to visit the second graders to talk about the Sacrament of Reconciliation for further religious instruction. The school provides opportunities to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation every Advent and Lent, but encourages all students to go to confession as often as possible. New students who are Catholic (3rd grade and up) and who have not yet received the Sacrament of Reconciliation must undergo 2 years of Catholic education prior to receiving the sacrament for the first time.
