My name is Coach Karl Johnson and this is my 6th year here at Holy Family Grade School. I have been teaching Physical Education for over twenty five (25) years and I enjoy watching our youth grow and mature into young adults. I am so happy to be a part of this great Holy Family Grade School Community.

I am from Springfield, Ohio and a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Secondary Physical Education. I came to HFGS by way of Francis Parker High School in San Diego. I was the Operations Associate Director/ PE Sub / Sports Coach. I coached various sports such as Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball for Varsity and JV programs at Parker HS. Here at HFGS, I serve as the Coach for Boy’s (Varsity Flag Football, Basketball,Volleyball and Track), Girl’s Varsity (Basketball), a sports consultant, and the 3rd – 8th Grade student school mentor toward continuing student character and personality development.

My philosophy is to teach the whole student with passion and understanding, while teaching real life experiences. I will teach every student, from the lower skilled to the upper skilled, and will incorporate both exercising and conditioning which is a vital component of Physical Education. Sportsmanship and teamwork will be encouraged at all times.
