Mr. Clark

Dear Holy Family Community,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Clarence Clark. I am the 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher and STEP Coordinator here at Holy Family Grade School. For those of you who may be new to our school, here is a little about my background:

I was born in Havana, Cuba, and grew up in San Gabriel, California. I attended St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge and USC, where I majored in philosophy and minored in European history. After working as a paralegal, I earned my J.D. at UC Hastings College the Law in San Francisco. More recently, I completed a Professional Designation in Human Resources Management at UCLA Extension and a Clear Teaching Credential in Social Science and English at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles.

I have taught almost all elementary and high school grades in some capacity for 15 years, most of that in Catholic schools, at the junior high level. I have a special love for U.S. history. Most recently, in addition to doing non-profit, character development work with young persons, I substitute taught at Ascension School in Los Angeles and public schools in Hermosa Beach.

My teaching philosophy is to teach slightly above my students’ current level, thereby challenging them to achieve beyond their own initial expectations. In religion, I am dedicated to character formation and genuine growth in love for Jesus Christ.

I look forward to working closely with students and parents in the new school year. I can be reached at

Sincerely yours,

Clarence Clark
